Front doors, priced in the open

This is the category where the numbers are most out of line with reality. Wrought iron entry doors sell in the United States for $2,600 to $5,000 installed, and considerably more from the brands that specialize in them. They are made in China, and the markup between the two is the largest in our range.

Why this category

Steel and iron sit outside the tariff that hits everything else

Our windows are vinyl and our outdoor kitchens are stainless for the same reason this line is steel and iron. The United States antidumping order on aluminum extrusions from China carries an 86 percent China-wide rate, and it names door frames as covered merchandise. Iron and steel doors are outside that order entirely.

No aluminum exposure

Wrought iron and steel entry doors face Section 232 steel duties and Section 301 like any imported steel product, and nothing else. That is a materially lower and more predictable cost stack than aluminum framing.

Safety glazing is not optional

Any glass in or beside a door is a hazardous location under 16 CFR 1201. It must be tempered or laminated and permanently etched. Under CPSC rules the importer is legally the manufacturer, which means we issue the certificate and keep the records. We cannot contract that away and we would not want to.

Glazed doors get NFRC too

A door with significant glass is rated the same way a window is. We publish the U-factor on any glazed unit rather than leaving you to guess whether a beautiful iron door is also a hole in your wall.

Market ranges from published national installed-cost data. Ranges are wide because the same physical door carries very different prices depending on the channel it reaches you through. That is the entire point.
